Om Puri, the man who has contributed a lot to the Indian Cinema has passed away after a massive heart attack early this morning. The veteran actor of Bollywood was introduced to Telugu industry with “Ankuram,” which was directed by Uma Maheshwara Rao. For his role of Satyam in this film, he received huge appreciation and also won the hearts of Telugu audience with his acting. After that, he also acted in the Telugu-Hindi bilingual “Raatri,” directed by Ram Gopal Varma.
He started his career in the industry in the 1980s with art films and later solely dedicated a major part of his life to mainstream movies. Om Puri also featured in the Hollywood films like ”The Ghost and the Darkness” and ”East Is East.” It is definitely a loss to Indian Cinema for not having actors like him any more and hope his soul may rest in peace.
