The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu is no more. Jayalalithaa breath her last on 5th of December 2016. Jayalalithaa is often referred as ‘Amma’ of the Tamil Nadu state. She served for 5 terms as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for over 14 years between 1991 and 2016. Before she entered the Tamil Nadu politics she was a popular actor who holds the credit of acting in about 140 films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi films.

Actor turned politician Jayalalithaa suffered from fever and dehydration and was admitted to Apollo Hospital located at Chennai on 22nd of September 2016. Unfortunately, she also suffered a cardiac arrest. After 75 days long illness, she passed away. Her numerous contributions to the Tamil Nadu state will always be remembered. Jayalalithaa will always remain “Amma” in millions of hearts. May her soul rest in peace.
