Universal Star Kamal Haasan after doing several serious films like “Vishwaroopam” and “Cheekati Rajyam” is on his way back with the comedy entertainer “Sabaash Naidu.” It is a trilingual film which is being made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and it stars the actor’s daughter Shruti Haasan, along with Brahmanandam, Ramya Krishnan and Saurabh Shukla in pivotal roles. Music maestro Ilayaraja will score tunes for the film. “Sabash Naidu” is co-produced by Kamal in association with Lyca Productions.
According to the latest updates, Kamal Haasan will join hands with veteran Tamil filmmaker Moulee for a film titled “Meyyappan” which will be produced under the prestigious banner AVM. The legendary AVM Productions is one of the oldest banners in Indian cinema and it was this production house which introduced Kamal Haasan as a child artiste in “Kalathur Kannamma.”
After almost 14 years, Kamal Haasan joined hands with director Moulee. Earlier, Kamal Haasan and director Moulee had worked together in various genres that went on to become super hits. In the year 2002, Moulee had directed Kamal Haasan in “Pammal k Sambandam”, a super hit comedy film, which was written by Crazy Mohan. The following year, Kamal co-authored the screenplay for “Nala Damayanthi,” which was also directed by Moulee with Madhavan in the lead role.
Sources also reveal that the full-length comedy titled “Meyyappan” is a tribute to AVM’s founder A.V. Meyappa Chettiar. However, an official confirmation of this project is awaited.
