The yesteryear actress C. Krishnaveni was an actor with plenty of talents. She made her debut in the movie “Sati Anasuya” in the year 1935. Later, she acted in films like “Kacha Devayani”, “Gollabhama” and “Madalasa” etc. She is also a playback singer and lent her voice to many films.
She also produced many films under her own banners Jaya Pictures and Meka Rajyalaxmi Anuradha. A few notable ventures made under their banner were “Mana Desam“, “Dakshayagnam” and”Jeevana Jyoti.”
She has also done some prominent roles in Tamil and Kannada movies. Her films always prompted tradition values and ethics. She is honored with the Raghupathi Venkayya award in the year 2004 for contributing good films in the film industry. She has the credit of introducing actors like NTR, Anjali Devi and Vijay Kumar and technicians like Ghantasala and Ramesh Naidu.
In a recently held interview, she shared her memorable moments to the media. Krishnaveni said that she did many roles as an actress, singer and producer in Telugu and Kannada films. “God introduced N.T.R and Ghantasala through me”. One of my biggest regrets is that I couldn’t work with ANR and NTR as an actress.
