Like almost every person of his generation, Rajamouli grew up watching films and films were his only passion. Influenced by his father K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, a noted screenwriter at that time, his passion towards the movies grew much fonder. In his mid teens, Rajamouli had an epiphany as he sat in a dark cinema theater watching larger than life heroes and heroines cavorting, crying, laughing, leading larger than life lives…. For the first time since he discovered films he decided to be a filmmaker.

Rajamouli his career with the popular Television serial “Shanti Nivasam” on Eenadu Television, Rajmouli stormed into the big screen with a bang. His debut film “Student No.1” with Jr., N.T.R., marked the onset of the legend. The film wasn’t just a commercial success, but, it paved ways the unsurpassed stardom for Jr. N.T.R., who was still a novice to the industry.
