[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]In the glorious history of cinema, we find that actors are aplenty, but stars are a rare breed. Till date, there are just a countable number of stars that have stood the test of time, in our Telugu industry. There has been the odd ‘one film wonders’ every now and then but, notching up consistent successes is a difficult task for most of these fledglings. But one such rare star, who is still reigning supreme is the Tollywood heartthrob Mahesh Babu.
It’s been 17 years since ‘superstar’ Mahesh Babu started his career as a hero in Telugu cinema.
From an endearing child actor to one of the biggest superstars of south cinema, Mahesh Babu’s is a meteoric rise. The ‘Prince Charming’ who began his career as a child artist with “Needa,” directed by the veteran director Dasari Narayana Rao had his father Krishna as the hero and his brother Ramesh Babu in an important role.
After appearing as a child actor in few movies, Mahesh Babu took a break from movies after “Anna Thammudu,” (1989.) Ten years later made a comeback as the hero with K. Raghavendra Rao’s “Rajakumarudu.”

This is the first and only combination of Mahesh Babu and K. Raghavendra Rao.
This, though is the debut of Mahesh as a hero, is actually the 10th film of Mahesh as he acted as a child artist before in 9 movies.
Super Star Krishna made a special appearance in the movie and plays the father of Mahesh’s character.
“Rajakumarudu” was dubbed in Hindi as “Prince No. 1” and in Tamil as “Kaadhal Vennila.”
The movie was in production for more than a year. There were too many cooks spoiling the broth as it is Mahesh’s debut movie. The script was finalized 4 months after starting the project.
The debut of Mahesh was supposed to be Yamaleela that came in 1994, but Krishna wanted him to complete studies and thus was delayed by 5 years.
The film has many parodies, imitated and inspired ones from films such as DDLJ, Mask of Zorro, Shaktiman-Tele series and a few more to bring in the fun elements.
Music of Manisharma played major support for the success and till date this successful combo repeated for 11 times giving one after another musical hit.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpVd4bspD4k”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
