Rambha (born as Vijayalakshmi) is a popular Indian film actress and Tollywood celebrity in the 1990s. She first starred in “Aa Okkati Adakku” in 1992 and went on to star in many superhit films.
Rambha was born in Vishakapatnam to Venktehshwar Rao and Usha Rani on 5 June 1976. Her striking resemblances with the deceased actress Divya Bharati fetched her movie offers. Rambha has been roped in for the movie “Tholi Muddu” in place of the former as Divya Bharathi passed away in mysterious circumstances while the shooting was mid-way. The director had completed the remaining scenes with Rambha.
However, it was “Aa Okkati Adakku” was her full-fledged role as a heroine which got released even before “Tholi Muddu” and went to appear in many superhit movies like “Alluda Mazaka“, “Allari Premikudu“, “Bombayi Priyudu“, “Hitler” and “Bavagaru Bagunnara“.
Not restricting her stardom to Telugu alone, Rambha had featured in many Indian languages and she established herself as a successful heroine in Hindi too with movies like “Judaai“, “Bandhan” and “Gharwali Baharwali“.
After a highly successful film career, Rambha married Indran Pathmanathan, the founder and chairman of Magickwoods, a kitchen and bathroom manufacturing firm based in Canada, on 8 April 2010. The couple is blessed with two daughters, Laanya in Toronto on 13 January 2011 and Sasha born on 31 March 2015.
