Superstar Krishna, the name synonymous for adventures. Krishna was a huge name in the 1970s and 80s. He had changed the economy of the film industry by giving hit after hit. From being a slum dweller in his debut movie “Thene Manasulu” to the Superstar of Tollywood, Krishna has traveled a long way.
Over the years, he has not only grown bigger and more iconic with each passing year but he has become an institution that is inseparable from the lore of Indian cinema.
Filmmakers aspire to cast him in their creations and screenplay writers dream of weaving celluloid magic based on his onscreen histrionics. Because beyond the aura of the Superstar Krishna, beyond the facade of the Superstar Krishna, there beats the soul of a consummate performer – an artist for whom celluloid is a dimension of existence and expression.
From a man of modest beginnings to the biggest star of Telugu cinema fraternity, Krishna’s ascent to fame has been meteoric.
He acted in few movies like Padandi Munduku, Kulagothralu in blink and miss appearances before he made debut as full-fledged hero with Tene Manasulu. Krishna has redefined the Telugu Cinema with the introduction of Cinemascope, First 70mm, First DTS system and he has introduced the Cowboy and Detective genres. He has delivered some of the biggest blockbusters like Alluri Seetharamaraju, Mosagallaki Mosagadu, Simhasanam and Gudachaari 116. Krishna owns a production company “Padmalya Studios” which produced many super hit films. Krishna’s Saakshi film has won critical acclaim at the “Tashkent Film Festival” in 1968.
Apart from the hero nonpareil, Krishnas has directed 17 films and produced many films under his home banner “Padmalaya Studios” in Telugu and Hindi.
The legendary actor turns 72 today, on this occasion, we wish the Superstar Krishna garu a Very Happy Birthday and wish him good luck for his upcoming movie “Sri Sri”.
